Workplace learning and psychological safety supporting the implementation of organizational strategy
Change has become a constant factor in contemporary organisational environment, posing challenges for both the organisation and the employees. Hence, efficient and successful implementation of a new strategy benefit everybody. A successful strategic change requires not only a well thought out strategic plan, but a successful implementation too, or the carefully formulated strategy will risk falling short. Despite previous studies recognizing the significance of learning in the strategy process and the learning strengthening effect of psychological safety, prior research examining strategy implementation and psychological safety together is scarce, let alone with learning in the equation. This dissertation addresses this research gap and utilizes and develops the concepts of strategic change, workplace learning and psychological safety using a socio-cultural and constructivist learning theory framework, focusing on workplace learning, interaction and the organizational change process.
