Our research group investigates health effects, both adverse and beneficial, of environmental factors using epidemiological methods. We also evaluate health effects of environment-friendly lifestyles and conduct health impact assessments. Our expertise covers register-based, questionnaire, and panel studies.

Our diverse research topics are related to urban environments and climate change. Currently, we investigate health effects of air pollution, traffic-noise, nature environments, extreme weather, and active commuting.

Our research group belongs to two UEF faculties and collaborates closely with the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare.
