Food for Mind - Nutrition-focused group intervention with a strength-based counseling approach for people with clinical depression

The primary aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of a behavioral nutrition group intervention compared to a social support intervention in the treatment of depression. Participants are between 20-65 years old and have a diagnosis of moderate or severe depression. They will be recruited in collaboration with 4 public outpatient care units and 7 private outpatient care units. Participants will be randomized into two arms: Food for Mind nutrition intervention or Bring Good Mood intervention group. Both groups will get peer support and be followed up for one year.
