Design, research, and development of digital technology for learning and development

The edTech research group at the School of Computing, University of Eastern Finland designs, carries out research and develops digital solutions for learning and development in a digitalized society. Our research involves studies of tools and models for computational thinking, digitalization, and computing education. Our research and development activities also strive for inventing fresh digital solutions in order to tackle real-life challenges together with learners, teachers, companies, parents, and other stakeholders. An important part of our activities is the IMPDET-LE doctoral study programme, which provides doctoral training related to the research interests of the group around the globe. We have also launched a doctoral training hub in collaboration with College of Business Education (CBE) in Tanzania in order to provide doctoral training to the staff members of CBE, and improve the quality and impact of research carried out in the college.
