NEMESIS - Novel effect biomarkers for metabolic disruptors: evidence on health impacts to answer science and policy needs

Leaders

Project introduction

The NEMESIS project brings together experts from multiple fields of research to answer persisting scientific uncertainties regarding chemical-induced metabolic disruption. The project receives its funding from EU’s research and innovation funding programme Horizon Europe, that aims to ensure its citizens’ are living and working in a health-promoting environment.

The project will utilize a battery of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) including state-of-the-art in vitro and in vivo methods and systems biology approaches, as well as large cohort datasets to provide more comprehensive understanding of the underlying mechanisms of action of metabolic disruptors and their mixtures. The main purpose of this is to find new biomarkers for chemical-induced metabolic disruption for human risk assessment of chemicals.
