I teach courses that cover Finnish history from the era of Autonomy and Independence to the present day, with a focus on Structural, Education and Social History perspectives. Additionally, I teach courses aimed at History and Social Studies subject teachers and work as a HOPS-advisor. I am also involved at the departments’  Opeseminaari, which is a joint master’s seminar group for subject teachers in history and geography.

My doctoral research focuses on social and educational history, particularly from the perspective of structural history. In the dissertation, I study traditions and practices of university level history education in Finland. I also explore how a structural-historical approach can serve as a bridge to connect university and school history.
