I study the soundscapes of Orthodox Christian worship in my doctoral research. I am interested in the experiences of the participants of worship and the contexts in which the soundscapes are formed and experienced. During my ethnographic fieldwork, I have formed an extensive collection of audio recordings of Orthodox Christian worship in Finland and research interviews to be archived.

I work as a project and doctoral researcher at the University of Eastern Finland’s Business School, under the Tourism Business research group. I have work experience both from practical tourism field as well as from research. Two of my most important interests in research and tourism in general are experience design and inclusive tourism. For inclusive tourism, I am especially interested about gender and sexual minority identities in tourism context, which is also the topic of my dissertation research. My love for experience design I get to express through teaching in the Tourism Marketing and Management master’s degree program, as well as in some project works.

I work as a project researcher in the GuideGap project, where we study the adherence to Finnish Current Care Guidelines and Choosing Wisely recommendations in prescribing decisions together with the associated factors using a multi-method approach. At the same time, I am working on my doctoral dissertation, which focuses on the continuity of care in primary healthcare: its potential causal link to the utilization and costs of specialized healthcare, as well as the mediating factors of this potential relationship. In the GuideGap project, we specifically examine the role of continuity of care as a factor in guideline adherence.

My research primarily involves registry-based studies with large datasets. I hold degrees in social science and health economics from University of Eastern Finland and University of Helsinki. Additionally, I serve as a senior specialist at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare working with the Performance indicators used in the statutory assessment of the Finnish social and health care system.

I work as a post-doctoral researcher in the Research Council of Finland’s UNITE Flagship. My research focuses on human–forest relationships, including people’s experiences of forests, the meanings they assign to them, and their cultural and institutional dimensions.

In my doctoral dissertation, I examined both conceptually and empirically the human–forest relationships (HFRs) of Finnish forest professionals and how these relationships are formed, how they shape professional identity, and how they manifest in forest-related conflicts and the sustainability transition.

I am also involved in science communication and teaching, including courses on human–forest relationships and conflict management.

I serve as a coordinator of IUFRO’s Research Group 6.05 Forest conflict management. In addition, I am a member of the Finnish Society of Forest Science’s disciplinary subgroup, the Human-Forest Relationship Research Club, and co-host the Coffee Talks on Human–Forest Relationships series in collaboration with international networks.
