In the UEF Home Economics research group, we research and develop
- everyday household activities related, among other things, to housing, consumption, and food and nutrition
- home economics education and pedagogy, as well as home economics teacher education
Recently, we have studied sustainability education in home economics teaching, the pedagogical planning of teaching by student teachers, food behavior and nutrition, home economics pedagogy, vegan nutrition and the relationship with food, as well as sustainable household practices and the global responsibility of education.
We examine the home, family, and everyday life, and phenomena connected to them, from the perspectives of home economics science, educational sciences, and nutritional science. Approaches from other disciplines are also welcome. Get in touch (hille.janhonen-abruquah(at)uef.fi) and join the activities of the research group.
