The research group Translation and multilingual communication in digital society investigates translation and other multilingual practices focusing particularly on the role of digitalisation and translation technology both in the translation sector and in society more broadly. Members of the research group examine these phenomena from various perspectives. Our research questions include the effect of technology use on the work and working conditions of professional translators, the use of translational practices and translation technology by other professionals such as journalists, and the use of machine translation as a tool for linguistic accessibility by immigrants.
