The research group conducts multidisciplinary research on higher education students’ learning, generic skills, self-regulation of learning, well-being, study engagement and educational transitions. The research also focuses on assessment that supports learning and the development of competences, English as the language of teaching and learning, AI in higher education teaching and learning, as well as the research-based development of teaching, learning environments and pedagogical practices. The research is multi-methodological. Findings from university pedagogy research are applied in the development of higher education and in university pedagogical training.

Main tasks of the research group

  1. Deepen understanding of learning processes in the higher education context.
  2. Develop research-based tools and methods for teachers and trainers in their teaching work, as well as for researchers in university pedagogy in their research work.
  3. Provide and develop research-based pedagogical training and produce research knowledge to support the development of teaching and pedagogical leadership.
  4. Produce research-based knowledge for the university community so that the tasks and goals set for teaching and studying can be achieved.
