Technologies for Learning and Development
Research group
Our research involves studies of tools and models for computational thinking, investigating the role of digitalization in society, designing digital solutions for learning, education, and development, as well as developing novel solutions and interventions for computing education. Our research and development activities also strive for inventing digital solutions in order to tackle real-life challenges together with learners, teachers, companies, parents, and other stakeholders. An important part of our activities is our IMPDET studies, which provide doctoral training related to the research interests of the group around the globe. We have also launched a doctoral training hub in collaboration with the College of Business Education (CBE) in Tanzania in order to enhance and improve the quality, relevance, and impact of research outputs in CBE.
We are a member of the DIGS research community at UEF; https://www.uef.fi/en/research-community/learning-in-digitalized-society-digs
